Service Level Agreement

This page summarizes our service level commitments. The full contractual SLA is part of the Master Subscription Agreement. We update this page when commitments change.

Availability target

99.9% monthly availability for the production API and authenticated web application. Availability is measured per calendar month from external uptime probes against the production endpoints.

Service credits

≥ 99.9%No credit
≥ 99.0% and < 99.9%10% of monthly fee
≥ 95.0% and < 99.0%25% of monthly fee

Credits apply only to subscription fees and are issued against the next invoice. Credits do not exceed 50% of the monthly fee in any single month. Customers must request credits within 30 days of the affected month.

Disaster recovery commitments

  • Control plane RPO ≤ 15 minutes (recovery point — data loss bound).
  • Control plane RTO ≤ 4 hours (recovery time — restoration bound).
  • Per-tenant restore RPO ≤ 1 hour.
  • Per-tenant restore RTO ≤ 4 hours (90-minute internal target; 4 hours external commit).

Excluded events

  • Pre-announced maintenance: announced ≥ 72 hours in advance, ≤ 60 minutes, in the published window of Sundays 03:00–07:00 ET.
  • Force majeure events: natural disasters, regulatory actions, cross-provider outages outside our control.
  • Customer-caused issues: misuse, exceeding documented rate limits, customer IdP outages where we depend on the customer's SSO.

Status page

Live availability and incident history at status.steepl.co. History is retained for 12 months.

What we don't promise

  • Sub-second latency. We optimize for correctness and durability over micro-latency.
  • Active-active multi-region. Today the production deployment is single-region (Hetzner Falkenstein). Multi-region is on the roadmap; we will not market what we have not shipped.
  • Zero data loss in catastrophic events. RPO bounds the loss; we measure and publish.

Effective date: 2026-05-20. Subject to the controlling Master Subscription Agreement.
